Current Trustees

The Trust's activities are overseen by six appointed Trustees and a full-time investment team.
Given its perpetual nature, the Trust pursues a diversified investment strategy. Holdings include a balance of equities, bonds, and alternative investments. Preservation of capital and growth are priorities, as the Trust continually aspires to increase its human services impact.

Hugh M. Durden
Chairman

Mr. Durden was named Corporate Trustee in 1997 and was elected an individual Trustee and Chairman of the Trust in 2005. As Corporate Trustee, Mr. Durden was a representative of Wachovia Bank and was elected to the Board of Directors of The Nemours Foundation in July 1997. Mr. Durden joined Wachovia Bank in 1972 after business school and remained there throughout his business career, serving in leadership positions in North Carolina and Georgia. He retired as President of Wachovia Corporate Services in 2001.

John S. Lord
Vice Chairman

Mr. Lord was elected a Trustee of the Alfred I. duPont Charitable Trust in July 2000 and became a member of The Nemours Foundation Board of Directors the same year. Mr. Lord was first involved with the Trust in 1994 as a representative of the former Corporate Trustee, Nations Bank, and in 1998 as a member of the Board of Managers of Nemours. Mr. Lord served Nemours as Chair of the Board of Directors from 2007 through 2014. Mr. Lord lives in Winter Park, Florida and retired from his position with Bank of America as the Orlando-area market President and Small Business/Premier Banking Executive for the State of Florida.

Terri L. Kelly

Ms. Kelly was elected a Trustee of the Alfred I. duPont Charitable Trust in April 2020. Ms. Kelly has been affiliated with Nemours since 2006 when she became a member of the Board of Directors. Ms. Kelly is the retired President and CEO of W. L. Gore and is currently a director of United Rentals and Netherlands based ASML Holding NV. Ms. Kelly lives in Greenville, Delaware, and is active in her local community, serving as Co-Vice Chair on the Board of Trustees of the University of Delaware and the Unidel Foundation.

Thomas G. Kuntz

Mr. Kuntz was elected a Trustee of the Alfred I. duPont Charitable Trust in January 2017. Mr. Kuntz lives in Winter Park, Florida and retired in 2013 from SunTrust Banks, Inc. as Corporate Executive Vice President and as President and CEO of SunTrust Banks, Florida after a 35-year career with the company. Mr. Kuntz lives in Winter Park, Florida and is active in his local community, currently serving as the Vice Chair of the University of Florida trustees, and a trustee of Rollins College. Mr. Kuntz is also active on the Board of Guidewell Mutual Holding Corporation, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida, Inc., Shands Teaching Hospital and Clinics, Inc. and Truist Bank, Central Florida Advisory Board.

Robert G. Riney

Mr. Riney was elected a Trustee of the Alfred I. duPont Charitable Trust in February 2022. Mr. Riney is the current President, Healthcare Operations/Chief Operating Officer for the Henry Ford Health System in Michigan, joining the organization in 1978. Mr. Riney is the immediate past chair of The Nemours Foundation Board of Directors, serving as a Director since 2006. Mr. Riney’s current board and community roles include board member, past chair, Michigan Health & Hospital Association (MHA); board member, Detroit Zoological Society; board member, M1 Rail Transit Authority; chair, The Parade Company; board member, Hudson-Webber Foundation; and, board chair, Caymich Insurance Company.

Geoffrey M. Rogers

Mr. Rogers was elected a Trustee of the Alfred I. duPont Charitable Trust in July 2016. He has been affiliated with Nemours since 2015 when he became a member of the Board of Directors. He is a retired Regional Managing Director for Glenmede Trust Company and the founding President and CEO of the Glenmede Trust Company of Delaware. He lives in Greenville, Delaware, and is active in the local community, serving as a board member of Washington College, Winterthur Museum, and as a member of the Delaware Business Roundtable.
