As stewards of the vision of Mr. Alfred I. duPont’s will, we preserve The Nemours Estate® for the benefit of the public. Built in 1909 for Mr. duPont and his wife, Jessie Ball duPont, the 47,000-square-foot Estate rests on over 200 acres in Wilmington, Delaware, which is also the home of the modern-day DuPont corporation. The Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware shares its campus and legacy with the Estate.
Mr. duPont resided in Jacksonville, at his Epping Forest estate, in the decade before his death. Today, his Trust is administered from a headquarters building constructed near downtown in 2008. The graceful design, utilizing green technology, is a lasting memorial to the philanthropist who launched the vital work of The Nemours Foundation after his death in 1935.
Each location is home to a state-of-the-art Nemours Children’s Hospital, and there are outpatient locations in four states.
