Hello, I’m Casey Ridgik, a seasoned nurse with a strong passion for pediatric care. Over the past six years, I have dedicated myself to providing the highest level of nursing care to children and their families, and I’m proud to be a part of the esteemed Nemours Children’s Health community.
Delaware has been my lifelong home, and the proximity of Nemours Children’s Hospital to my childhood residence kindled my dreams of becoming a part of this remarkable institution. Growing up with Nemours pediatricians and healthcare professionals, I was inspired to pursue a career that would allow me to make a positive impact on the lives of young patients.
My journey began at the University of Delaware, where I pursued my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), graduating in 2017. Following graduation, I embarked on a fulfilling experience as a nurse on a Medical/Surgical Unit at the renowned Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. While I gained valuable experience during this time, my heart remained set on joining the Nemours family.
In early 2019, I took a leap of faith and made the decision to become a part of the Nemours team, starting my journey in the Emergency Department (ED). It is a decision I have never regretted, as I quickly discovered that the fast-paced, dynamic environment of the ED was where I truly belonged. The opportunity to be part of a team that delivers critical care to children in their moments of need was incredibly rewarding.
Working in the Nemours Emergency Department since 2019 has been one of the best decisions I’ve made in my nursing career. I’m privileged to be part of a team that has been recognized with the prestigious Lantern Award twice since my arrival, a testament to the exceptional level of care and dedication that we provide. I consider myself fortunate to have incredible coworkers who share my passion for pediatric nursing.
One of the most fulfilling aspects of my role is the privilege of caring for my neighbors and community members. I approach every shift with the goal of providing families with the best possible care and support during their challenging moments. It is an honor to be entrusted with the well-being of our young patients, and I am dedicated to upholding the high standards of care that Nemours is known for.
In summary, I am Casey Ridgik, MSN, RN, a nurse who has dedicated her career to the children and families of Delaware. My journey from my childhood dreams to becoming an integral part of Nemours has been a rewarding and fulfilling one, and I look forward to continuing to make a positive impact in the lives of those I have the privilege to serve.
